Let me start by saying that I've been playing, listening and DJing on vinyl for over 30 years. Years. I have DJ systems and audiophile systems/turntables. I have used dozens of styluses, many from Ortofon including their OM-Black (Audiophile). People say that this cartridge is audiophile. This is NOT even close. We played everything from 60's garage/70's soul funk to 80's alternative and retro modern like Khruangbin. I've also tried it at home with some house/deep house records. Simply put, this is HARSH and Inner Groove Distortion was off-putting. IGD alone is problematic enough they don't account for " If you need a DJ truck, you should be OVER Ortofon Blue/Super OM-20 (IMHO) I eventually dropped Blondie - Heart of Glass with them and Debra Harry's voice was so sibilant and BRIGHT in all the wrong places. For comparison. , I have an older "PINK" Ortofon Scratch that honestly outperforms them. The bass was ok but didn't blow me away. Again, they're HOT, bright, sizzling and have lots of IGD (on the Technics 1200GAE) - PASS If you need an archived stylus or access to a true audiophile at a great price, look no further than the Nagaoka MP-150 or the Budget MP-110. If you want to keep it in the Ortofon family, choose OM-Blue/20 above. (Ortofon RED are terrible in the inner groves, as is this wagon).
