I have never used a baby monitor. When we had kids, all we had were these boring audio recordings. I could see my wife constantly watching sleeping babies if we had one at the time. That being said, there are a few things I liked and a few things that I think could be improved. Pros: 1. Very well built. Obviously made of plastic but looks very durable. The monitor has a belt clip, and this belt clip has a hole for hanging the picture if you want to hang it on the wall.2. Camera This is a typical PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) camera. Except it's not a zoom, but it does have a function button you can press to zoom it in once to a specific distance. Pan and tilt have pretty good speed and almost no noise. Nice and quiet for a child. The camera has a microphone, but to be honest it's not that great. This could definitely use an improvement. However, I am sure that this will be enough for a baby to cry. The camera also has a built-in temperature monitor that is displayed on the video monitor. Pretty cool feature, seems accurate enough.3. video monitor. This is where I think they've made some improvements. The buttons have a dual purpose, you need to hold down the "Menu" button to get the FN (Function) button, then you can use the secondary options. You have to press the FN key again to disable the extra option. A little annoying, but the secondary buttons are rarely used, so fine. There are LED indicators to show the volume so you don't have to turn the volume up. The video resolution needs to be improved. although. Since Amcrest is very knowledgeable about security cameras, I'm sure they could find a better video quality option. The icons on the screen are also quite archaic. They need some improvement. The battery life of the monitor is decent, I'm sure I can get an afternoon nap but probably won't last all night. The monitor goes into sleep mode so it can last all night without charging. Overall, this is a quality and useful baby monitor. I wish there was a way to watch over the internet in case they are watered by a nanny. I definitely recommend this monitor as the price is good and there are a lot of features for this price. This monitor should last a long time based on Amcrest's history of good electronics!
