Inexpensive option for running time recording on small engines.
This is an economical yet very functional option for servicing and troubleshooting small engines. I used it for troubleshooting a single cylinder 4 stroke engine and it worked great. Now it's installed on my self-propelled lawn mower to track machine hours. The gauge has four spark detection modes, so you need to set it properly to get an accurate RPM reading. Apart from that, it is very easy to use. I'm thinking of buying another one to put in my tool box when I'm troubleshooting other small engines.
