Purchased and installed this gasket when I replaced the timing belt, water pump etc on my 1999 Miata last May. I like most Fel-Pro pads but this one is an exception. THIS IS A LEAK. I installed the gasket when needed with swabs of oil resistant silicone and torqued the valve cover bolts to 55 in-lbs in the correct pattern. I've read on the Miata forums that others have had better luck with a Mazda Miata factory rocker cover gasket. So I bought a factory seal for about $65 which sucked. The factory gasket fits much better in the valve cover groove, with no gaps or play. Best of all, the factory gasket hasn't leaked since it was installed 2 months ago. The car no longer smells of burnt oil. Fel-Pro should reconsider their design.
