This device is another big reason I became an OXO fan. Well made and easy to use. The lid opens by simply lifting the brush handle. When changing the brushes, the cover closes automatically. The brush is firmly attached to the handle and will not unscrew or loosen when brushed in a circular motion. A few years ago I thought I saved money when I bought a cheap toilet brush from the dollar store. I didn't know it had a screw-on brush head. When cleaning the toilet drain in a circular motion, the brush head came loose. I found myself driving the brush head down the drain with my hand, all the while dreading an expensive home visit from a plumber to fish the brush head out again. I took out the brush head and vowed never to buy cheap toilet brushes again. You might think that the solution is not to clean the drain in a circular motion. Well that seems reasonable, I have a family with children. The probability that this problem can happen to them is too great if one day they will come in handy. So a few extra bucks for a durable toilet brush seems like an easier fix — and a prevention.
