I ordered these for my daughter's prom and when I opened them to get ready for the night before the party the chemical smell was overwhelming. I let them air ours overnight hoping it would dissipate and it still smelled like a horrible chemical smell. I even tried using one to test and it left a horrible taste in my mouth. I had to run the next morning to buy random plastic paraphernalia elsewhere. Be sure to open a few days before the event in case you also encounter this problem and can't match your pretty gold and silver plastic tableware to the party decor.
