I installed a wood-burning stove in my wife's "barn". She said it would be much better if she had a heater in it. I had to find a way to safely run a 4" pipe through the wall. A 6-inch Schedule 40 oilfield tubing was run through the wall and secured with clamps. A 4 inch stovepipe was inserted into the tube, which was wrapped with ceramic insulation. When fully loaded with wood, the stovepipe reads 450-600 degrees Fahrenheit and the 6-inch chimney is the outside temperature. Wonderful! So now there's not much of a risk of burning Sue's soap and sewing barn.
