Review on Purdy 144080310 Angular Paint Brush by Daniel Reeder

For sharp lines on narrow surfaces without upholstery, use this brush

I only buy Purdy brushes. Period. My collection consists of two 1/5" ClearCut Angle Tools, two 2" ClearCut Angle Tools, a 2" Straight Brush and one of those 1" Angle Tools. A 1 inch brush is not suitable for ClearCut, but is sufficient to cut a clean line. I don't use tape except on floors, and a brush that gives good control and holds a good charge is paramount unless you're a pro. Not me. I use this narrow one for my old baseboards that have a half inch bevel at the top. I paint them white after the walls and ceiling are done so they must be right. I do it leaning on the floor on one side. I'm not a spring chicken and I'm not very comfortable in this position, trust me. My point is that this brush, as small as it is, has enough paint in it for me to cover a good 18-24 inch area on the top before reloading. One long sweep, two, which of course is key to straight lines and isn't possible without a good brush that holds the load well. Before discovering Purdy brushes many years ago I couldn't do it properly and had to mask everything. What a time saver when you don't have to record to tape.
