Review on SharkBite U008LFA Straight Coupling Plumbing Fitting: PEX Fittings, Push-to-Connect, 1/2 Inch Coupler for PE-RT, HDPE, Copper, CPVC by Caleb Quade

First off I have to say I'm not the smartest person in the world. I've made many small general repairs to my home over the years, but plumbing problems have always been daunting. Unfortunately a few months ago one of my plastic pipes under the house leading to the kitchen sink was gnawed by an animal that managed to get there. After investigating the problem, I tried a few repairs that didn't work. Researching online what other options I have, I came across many repair sites raving about SharkBites for jobs like the one I needed. I spoke to someone I knew who had used it in the past and also had nothing but positive things to say about it. I didn't have money for a plumber so I gave this item a try based on all the positive reviews and word of mouth. He worked great. I bought a pipe cutter with him, measured how much putty I needed to cut, went under the house, and it literally took me less than five minutes to cut the putty and install SharkBite. I did this eight months ago and the repair is still going on. My only suggestion is that this item doesn't come with a removal tool, so I highly recommend bringing it along with this one. If you install it incorrectly or unevenly, it will be very difficult to remove with a tool. No tools required for installation, disassembly only. I can't describe how relieved I was when I discovered SharkBite and how easy it was to install. Highly recommended for repairing small holes in pipes or as a general connector to join two pieces together.
