It looks very pretty and yes if you mix it within other books, you can't tell what it is; however, I don't have a library and I think the lock is a bit weak and inside is a lot smaller than I thought if you want to also place some important documents. It will work if the documents aren't too bulky.If you don't have a library or a bookshelf it is quite obvious that the eye will go directly to it because it is eye catching which is not what you want; therefore, you have to hide it somewhere and then you personally cannot enjoy looking at the pretty picture. I understand it's not meant to stare at, but I am making the point as to what you may or may not be able to do with it. I did buy it for the looks because I had one that fit the purpose and didn't care how it looked because I was using it to protect personal items.Overall, it's ok and again definitely a pretty picture
