Plastic on the bottom of the lid

I've looked everywhere for a nice kettle with little or no plastic coming into contact with water or steam. Fell in love with the look of this kettle and was concerned about the plastic part that shows the maximum water level. I was really hoping it was silicone. I received the teapot today, it is absolutely beautiful, although the handle is definitely royal blue and not turquoise like the photos. However, this part is definitely plastic, and the inside of the lid is also made of the same black plastic. The plastic surface inevitably comes into contact with the condensate, causing the chemicals to drip back into the water. Definitely a deal breaker for us. But if you're not worried, it boils up to a liter of water very quickly and looks stunning. I will return it tomorrow. I have a hard time understanding why it is 99% like this when the kettles on the market still have plastic parts inside the kettle or are made of crappy steel that rusts after two weeks. We are replacing our GE kettle because after 13 years of use it has only developed a tiny 1/8 inch spot of rust, that's what you call high quality. 2020 is on the way. The BPA-free plastic label is no longer good. Everyone knows that all plastic releases chemicals when heated. You can't make everything out of stainless steel. Found an Ascot teapot today, will order it instead although not as pretty as this one. I wanted so badly to love him and keep him, well
