My son of asthma , and we have always tried to keep the air in our home as clean as possible. We really started to get serious when our daughter got us to buy a pair of ferrets for her pets. (Ferrets don't cause our son's asthma problems - they just have a musky odor from their scent glands that needs to be removed.) This is a good smaller air filter/purifier. That wouldn't be enough for ferrets. We have an industrial grade air filter in my daughter's room that uses filters that cost more than this entire unit! But Germ Guardian true HEPA filter air purifier for home, office, bedroom, filters allergies, pollen, smoke, dust, pet dander. , Mold and Odors, Ionizer Deodorant, Silent 3-in-1 AC5600WDLX GREAT for my son's room. It's small enough not to take up a lot of floor space and quiet enough in most environments not to interfere with the use of its space. Noise at night is actually good white noise for sleep! And it really helps reduce his asthma attacks indoors at night. Sometimes we had to give him asthma medication at night so he could sleep. With the Germ Guardian Filter they are almost a thing of the past. I would recommend it as a good one bedroom unit. It is big enough and can be moved from room to room if needed. Also, I don't think it's very expensive to replace the filters on this model. Some models can have very expensive filters. I hope this review is helpful to you.
