I bought this to get a better view of the mineral samples I collect. It's 30 and well built. The lens is plastic so I have to be careful not to leave it lying around or drop it in a spot where it could get scratched. I like the two Phillips screws on either side, so if the cover comes loose, a simple turn of the screw tightens it back up to keep it in place. The center of the lens is very sharp, but the outer edges are blurry. I don't think it was advertised as a triple room, I wasn't expecting to get a triple room for the amount I paid. If you need sharp zoom in the center and edges of the lens, I suggest spending more money to get a true triple lens. These cheaper lenses are good for what they do, but they don't provide the detail needed to see a clear inclusion in a gemstone, for example.
