If you need something that will work with both remote KVM and local KVM, this could be for you. What isn't clearly explained is whether you have to press a button on the device for the device you're on to take control of the KB, monitor, and mouse. I needed both sides to work independently (each end can be used at any time or even together) and not require device interaction as they would be placed in closets and out of reach of end users. If clicking a button to change controls works for you, this will work for you.
