Review on StoreYourBoard Tool Storage Rack, Max, Wall Mount Tools Home And Garage Organizer Storage System, Steel Gear Hanger by Keith Iverson

I wanted to give this five stars and would have been delighted to do so. More about that in a minute.I looked at a lot of garden tool organizers and read a lot of reviews. Two features stood out and led me to choose this one. First, the wall brackets did not have to be on exact 16" centers (there is a lot of variation in my garage). Second, I liked the hanging brackets. Aside from length, they were all the same, straight forward and simple, and they appeared to be flexible enough for all my tools. There would be no need to figure out which kind of hanger to use for each tool.I was not disappointed. This is a splendid wall system. It was easy to install, rock-solid, and it looks terrific. Because tools can be stacked on the brackets, I ended up hanging a lot more than I had planned. It is now also home to my short step ladder, a folding step stool and a couple of buckets.I liked the "Max" rack so much I decided to order another, this time the "Compact" version. I would use it for power cords, trouble light, shop vac hose, garden trellises, and winter storage of wind chimes. This is where "easy to install" fell apart. Again, putting up the wall brackets and cross bar were a snap. Adding the hanging brackets and securing with the pins, however, didn't go as well this time. The holes in four of the brackets were about 1/16" out of alignment with those in the cross bar. I was able to force the pins through the two top holes, but there was no way they would also go through the two bottom holes. This is why I deducted two stars from the review. Fortunately, the things I am hanging on this one are not very heavy.For what is is worth, four of the hanging brackets were packaged in twos. These were the four where the holes did not line up. Two of the hanging brackets were packaged singly. With these, the holes did line up. I have contacted the manufacturer about the problem and they are sending me replacement brackets. If these fit, I will be pleased to update the review to five stars.I would definitely recommend this system, but at this point, only the "Max" version.
