Review on ๐Ÿฆˆ Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Dolphin and Shark Kickboards - Educational Learn-to-Swim Pool Toys (Set of 2) by Tyler Kota

The quality of the fabric seems very fragile and can tear - manufacturer. Packaging has damaged finish

We have just received this item and were pleased with the original look of the boards for the price. These are light rigid foam panels with colorful fabric that look even more colorful than in the pictures. Each has its own manufacturer's heat-sealable plastic wrap, and between the plastic and the platter is the maker's/Melissa & Doug paper label, also cellophane taped to the platter, presumably to keep the label inside. place before opening the package. Unfortunately, the adhesive on the tape almost blew a hole through the extremely lightweight "fabric", which looks more like very thin colored plastic than what I would call "fabric". It looks like the chemicals in the tape were too high for the colored fabric, which now has dimples and a loose area, maybe 4 inches in diameter (see photos). When I ran my finger very lightly over the dimpled area, a dirty streak appeared as the adhesive residue seemed to have stripped all available substance from my finger. Not that I need to wash my hands, if you know what I mean. I also photographed the edge of the board where you can see that the fabric is actually sewn on, so there must be a certain quality to the fabric no matter what the cover is. I would guess it's thinner than a regular sheet of paper. It's not a big deal anyway, but it doesn't bode well for future wear either; So I hope they hold up and don't just fall apart and look like junk.

Pros
  • Fits great for me
