I live in an apartment building and started getting complaints about barking. My trainer recommended the petsafe lite collar for small or sensitive dogs. I have a mini Australian Shepherd. This is a vibration based on the level of the bark. My puppy is 10 months old and to be honest it doesn't bother him at all. I only use it on my dog a few times a week for a few hours as needed. I don't see any reason why he should be there all the time. When he's barking at home, I keep training him with treats and no collar. He lets me put it on and doesn't seem to mind at all. I think it depends on the dog. When I got it I took it to the trainer and asked him to measure it to make sure it worked so it wasn't too loose or too tight. I wanted to make sure I was using it correctly. Again, depending on how your puppy or dog responds, this may be better than moving your dog. I don't need it that often and I've found that I don't wear it when it's not on when I'm at home it doesn't usually bark. It was like the collar was training or exercising him and in a few months he only put it on 15 times for 2-3 hours at a time.
