Review on Graco TrueCoat 360 Blue/White Paint Sprayer by Scott Kulothungan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great sprayer when using FlexLiners

I'm no newbie to Graco airless sprayers having owned and used Truecoat Plus 2 for over a year. After reviewing other brands we have concluded that Graco atomizers are very well made and this atomizer continues that legacy. There is a big difference in quality between cheaper vaporizers like Wagner and this vaporizer. Truecoat 360 is significantly lighter and smaller than my Plus 2, probably due to the new single piston design. TrueCoat 360 is fully rebuildable, which is an important feature of any atomizer you choose to invest in. The main difference of this atomizer from its previous generation is the addition of a FlexLiner bag instead of a siphon based suction device and I honestly love it. What I hated most about my old sprayer was that cleaning it was a huge job. I sprayed for 20 minutes and then spent another 30 minutes cleaning the sprayer. This sprayer is much easier to clean, it takes less than 10 minutes. That makes it more rewarding for me - I'm more likely to use a spray gun than resorting to roller and brush painting. However, the biggest limitation of this atomizer is overspray, although this is common. for all paint sprayers. The spray pattern is excellent, but even with very careful work you have to deal with overspray. It's not a problem outdoors, but when painting in the garage I had to be very careful and mask off a lot around the windows. As far as spraying performance goes, the sprayer does a great job. It sprays at 1200psi and I've had no trouble spraying undiluted interior latex paint. If you've never painted with an airbrush before, I highly recommend watching videos or reading tutorials on how to coat properly to get good coverage and avoid streaks. Speaking of the manual, please read it before using the sprayer. . There are very specific procedures for first using the sprayer, spraying, cleaning etc. My biggest complaints and the reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the cost of the FlexLiners and the lack of pump protection in the box. A pack of 3 flexible ear tips is currently $12. $4 per earbud is way too expensive when they are truly disposable. ADVICE. The workaround I've found for this is that you line the flex liner with a plastic bag (quite strong, like a ziplock bag) which you can then spray without contaminating the FlexLiner and essentially reuse it indefinitely , which saves a lot of money. The pump armor serves to store and prevent rusting in the internal parts of the sprayer. Sufficient for multiple uses. Previously bundled with sprayers but no longer bundled. This means that when you buy a syringe you need to take pump armor or something similar with you. Storage liquid is optional - you MUST use storage liquid or you will damage the atomizer. I think at least a pattern should be included as it is needed. For the occasional home user who needs to be able to spray outdoors or infrequently on large indoor projects, this sprayer is a great option, and with a quick clean and the ability to cover a large area quickly, you can't go wrong.
