perhaps not as electrically sound as one might prefer

One of these arrived DOA and the other gave me a mild electrical tingle when I handled it while plugged in so I opened them up to take a look.The power connections were hastily soldered at the factory, which is an easy enough fix if you’re handy with an iron.I was surprised to find yellow packing tape (?) being used as an insulator on the circuit board inside. I replaced this with a few wraps of proper electrical tape and so far we’re good to go.The lights themselves are plenty bright and easy to control with the remote.
