The documentation that came with the device and the online system for setting it up are obviously translations of translations. Broken sentences and bad grammar make this device difficult to set up. Another big problem is that the connected computers must have drivers installed for the printer they are working with. A real print server does not. The supported drivers appear to be the same list of drivers for printers that can already print over Wi-Fi. My Brother laser printer doesn't have WiFi, so I figured such devices even existed. The only computers that could connect and print through this device were Windows computers, which I was able to install the USB driver on. None of my Androids, iPads or Linux computers could use the connection. Finally, unlike a true Wi-Fi printer, this device needed to be connected through a router rather than a range extender to obtain an IP address. I bought a true wireless printer after struggling with it for days. The Wi-Fi printer easily got its IP address from the range extender and worked flawlessly with any computer as long as they were on the same range extender network. So in summary, if you ONLY need to connect a Windows PC to a printer without Wi-Fi. and MAY install the USB driver first, that MAY work. It will NOT give you the same functionality as a true Wi-Fi printer, which costs about the same as this device anyway. And it doesn't work with Android, iPad or Linux computers. I'm an IT college student and couldn't get it to work even after manually setting a static IP address and other things that most users wouldn't try. It CAN work with a limited capacity with a laser printer under Linux IF you use a generic LPD driver AND you connect through the same router that assigns IP addresses via DHCP. may be.
