I wanted to love these shoes but I couldn't. I have a Topo Ultraventure Pro that I use most of the time. I love her and cannot recommend her more. I wanted it to be a high-top, waterproof version of my Ultraventures, but it's not. I couldn't get them tight enough around my ankle and could never get a decent heel hold. I tried them in different ways and it didn't matter. My feet just slid down the slopes and descents. The sizing wasn't too big as I was only about 1/2 inch from the toe to the bottom of the shoe. Otherwise they have great grip and really protect against water. Maybe they suit you better.
