There are three main things I like about this mattress protector:1) First and foremost, it is effective as a mattress protector. I didn't want to test it under a running tap, but I used a glass of water and gently poured it on a portion of the fabric, and sure enough it wicked it away. That's really not the main reason I got it, as I never eat or drink in bed, but it's good to know that it works. The other thing is that it also protects it from the bedroom elements, meaning wind and dust and sunlight which can slowly degrade your expensive mattress. Having a cheap protector over it can add years of life onto it, so I recommend it for everyone. You can get a good one nowadays for $50 or less like this one.2) What I like extra about this one is the nice extra bit of padding it also provides. It feels smooth and comfortable to the touch, and adds just a bit more comfort to my overall lying experience.3) The extra detail to attention by adding on stitching and designs on it was the main reason I chose this one over other mattress protectors, since I have had a few over the years and they have all been ho-hum plain white. I know this isn't the top layer of your mattress and should never see the light of day, but effective marketing works when customers are scrolling down a list of endless white protectors, and this orange cream one stands out with its color and design.
