I have cats and there is a lot of dust in the house as it is an old house on a hill where everything seems to fit. Seeing dust and hair floating in the air in the sunlight, nothing more. I bought it during fire season when the smoke was so heavy I couldn't even see a block. It also helped a lot with my allergies. This one is in my living room and I leave it on Auto, it's so quiet I can't hear it unless it flinches when it finds something to quickly clean up, it even takes smoke and odors out of the Open the kitchen, even then it doesn't bother me. I brush my hair off the canister filter at least once a week and vacuum the entire filter every few weeks or so to get the most out of each filter. Now I have to buy one for the sleeping area. The coverage is over 500 square feet and my house is 1200 so 2 should be enough for most of the house. I have another stamp in the office where one of my little senior cats spends a lot of time getting away from other kitties so the door is always closed. It's a lot louder but works well. I've been using it for 8 months now and it's still working great.
