I read dozens of reviews and I chose this device because it really has buttons to turn it on and off. The up and down motion of the blades does a great job of shredding even the salt crackers I use to coat pork chops without turning them into dust. It also makes other thoughts more even. It's so easy to align the handles so that the safety switch doesn't get in the way when you're working. My husband also likes to use it to chop onions and carrots. My sister-in-law made whipped cream and whipped sweet potatoes with cream cheese in a minute.
