I think they are made in Germany but not sure. Ten years ago I bought one with Hella on it. it was blue This one is the same but red and labeled Midnite. My guess is that the manufacturer is selling them to various retailers for promotional purposes. Midnite has a franchise right now. This is a very good and accurate device. The black squeeze bulb lasted ten years, testing 60 battery cells every 60 days before it had a small air leak and the acid stopped supplying enough acid into the test chamber to give an accurate reading, so it probably experienced just over 10,000 compressions. I'll buy another one in ten years.
