Review on ๐Ÿšฒ COFIT Detachable Bike Basket: Versatile Bicycle Accessory for Pets, Shopping, Commuting, Camping, and Outdoor Activities by Steve Jones

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Basically some good ones - I understand the secret of rubber strips - (it can be unbalanced)

In general I am satisfied with the purchase. It was relatively easy to install the adapter that attaches to the handlebars for attaching and detaching the basket, except the small spacers were very difficult to keep in place and you have to hold four separate pieces in place until you figured out exactly how to install them. . Position the large front and back pieces. I bought the version with extra pockets and thought it would be nice to put a water bottle in the side pocket, but the pocket was too small for even a small bottle and closed with a metal rim. to be useful. I fixed this by replacing the V-section of the bag with stretchy, thick spandex fabric. Unfortunately, my hand sewing holds up better than factory sewing - the bag came loose from the bag and I attached it with a few stitches. Many reviewers wondered what the two rubber strips were for. Luckily I know what they are and need them, but unfortunately I didn't have them (someone took the hardware apart, repackaged the rest nicely and sent the product back with the strips missing). Strips are needed to close the extra space as needed. and offer a better grip when mounting the adapter so that the adapter does not slip on the handlebars. My bars are very narrow in the middle, which means I really need them. I improvised with self-adhesive sports tape. Looks a bit weird but works great. I've been away from home for a long time, otherwise I'd use a piece of an old inner tube from a tire. The bike is my only means of transport on this trip and the basket is what I need for small purchases. The added benefit of the handles is that they prevent things from popping out if you use them while driving. I drove home yesterday with a bag full of groceries and a light bag of popcorn and the handles were perfect for holding. Stow it away when you go shopping by putting groceries back in at checkout, slide it back onto your bike and you're good to go! I add to this review: Now that I've ridden a bit, I've found that when the case is full, the bike remains a bit unbalanced. On a narrow, winding sidewalk that I can walk easily and slowly, I hit a wall with a basket.
