Suitable for easily chilling small drinks for long periods of time. If you want to chill a pure spirit drink, they're fine. I wouldn't expect them to substitute ice for larger drinks. Advantages: - Keeps small (schnapps) drinks cool for a long time (hours?). - Large size means you only use one. - Fun times for a 1 year old to suckle and large enough not to pose a choking hazard. Cons: - Doesn't make drinks "icy". - Not effective for large beverages (12 ounce soda can) even if two are used. - Large size dominates the glass. Notes: After a while, the ball doesn't seem so cold anymore. If you shake the ball at this point, it will get colder. - If your freezer is colder than mine, the drink might get colder.
