This is a first review, written immediately after receiving the product. The main summary is that this is a beautiful rug that seems to hold up to repeated use. .It has the makings of a great product that can hold its own against much more expensive brands. Definitely worth the money. The matte is a deep matte black with no gloss or reflective properties. The pictures were taken with flash. The white writing is bright, the lines are clear. In general it looks very beautiful. The surface is smooth with a very light texture that ensures a good grip on a smooth table/plate. It doesn't slide easily. The product appears to be very sturdy and durable. It's surprisingly thick at just under 0.25 inches. and quite hard but definitely has some deformation/bending. The cut surface is hard but has some warpage/bounce. It has not yet been tested for self-healing properties. was sent in a box that was too large for it and used unsuitable packaging material. I don't think this is the manufacturer's fault as it was sent by Revain. I will update the information if/when the mat settles and the deformation is corrected. True Dimensions: 17.75" X 23.5".
