Sent back. It was heavy and awkward to move and I couldn't find a suitable place to store it. Now I regret not sending it back because I found an amazing way to use it. I use a box cutter to create children's theater scenes. I damaged more than enough surfaces in the process. For this purpose it would be perfect so I will be ordering again in a few weeks. Look back. Too bad we can't get it in advance! It would also be perfect for quilts!

I quilt by night and work as an accountant by day. I wanted a new placemat but I wanted to be able to cut it and I use a lot of measuring tools. Great that it's reversible. Imperial on one side and customs on the other. The lines are clearly marked and precise! Corresponds exactly to my lines. Very heavy/thick which means it will stay in place when cutting. White on black acts as a high contrast and stands out sharply from the fabric or paper above. I like it much better than yellow on green, red on white, or gray on gray, all of which I have in different sizes. I use rotary cutters and precision knives on mats for quilting, layering…

This cutting mat arrived in a flat box ok but without the cushion so it was still rolled up. It flattened out fairly easily, but my photos show that it's not a self-healing mat. I made a few cuts with a standard rotary cutter but it was initially marred by an odd mark as shown in the first photo. The third picture shows the actual tearing of the surface, which this new carpet shouldn't have had. I am sending it back but as I like its weight I will order another one. This is a first review, written immediately after receiving the product. The main summary is that this is a beautiful rug that seems to hold up to repeated use. .It has the makings of a great product that can hold its own against much more expensive brands.
