The pump works. That's the good part. First, the attached hose is too short. I have this to drain water from a tarp covering my pool. If you needed to drain something very small, a small fish pond, or need to dry out areas that drain too slowly, that would be enough, otherwise I'd go for something more vigorous. And if there is access to electricity at all, I would use it, not battery power.
