What's the use of buying genuine HP inks if they don't work when they're new? I stopped buying HP printers over a decade ago when they started an ink overload scam. Other printer companies soon followed suit, and now nobody makes good printers with affordable inks, so I decided to give HP another try. When I bought the printer in July 2020, I bought a replacement kit (from the HP store) knowing that HP doesn't provide a lot of ink in the original printer. The printer has been working fine for a few months and was slowly running out of cyan ink so I replaced the cartridge today only to receive the above defective cartridge notification. BTW I also replaced magenta and didn't get any errors, so it's not a package. If HP can't control the quality of their own ink to a reasonable standard (I don't seem to be the only one complaining about this), they need to stop wasting money fighting counterfeit cartridge manufacturers and focus on their customers . I recommend you to buy Brothers printers as my mother is still happy with her printer (and we have changed cartridges several times with no problems). Canon printers have let me down in the past, but not because of ink issues. I can't return them because it's been five months since I bought them. I can't even buy a blue replacement because HP doesn't produce enough to keep their store or retailers stocked, let alone Revain.
