I was skeptical after reading the reviews but for the price I gave it a try. I used an adjustable wrench to tighten the nuts, the instructions were clear enough and assembly was fairly easy and straightforward. It took about 30 minutes to assemble and install my wife's 2018 Subaru Forester and it looks RAD now. Sturdy enough and works as advertised. The straps weren't big enough for my Sundolphin Excursion 12 ss so I bought others that fit better, no problem. Keeps my kayak at a good distance at 70+/_ with no issues. ALWAYS keep an adjustable wrench in the car and check it once or twice after use. Always make sure it is in good condition and tight. I haven't had any problems, but I'd rather play it safe. I wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.
