I chose this product because it has a long cord (6ft) while others average 4ft or less. I am currently using it in my sewing workshop. I don't need a surge protector since I turn it off when I'm not using it. I need it for the extra outlets it provides so I can plug my machine and a small iron into my sewing table/station and still have 1 outlet on the wall if needed. I also bought it because it's great for traveling. Many hotel rooms only have an outlet on one side of the bed. My husband uses CPAP so when traveling he can now sleep on his preferred side of the bed and not worry if there is an outlet, the cord is long enough to run under the bed from one side of the bed to the other . bed or behind it with your car cable. It also has 3 USB ports so we can connect our phones or tablets for charging from just one outlet. small enough to pack for travel. This product does NOT contain surge protection. So if you need it, this is not for you. This is just a power strip with 3 USB ports, 1 USB Type-C port and 2 power outlets (3 pins). The box says 4320J surge protector, but there are no indicators or an on/off indicator. Switch.
