Review on πŸ”΄ Grote 65720-5 Magnetic LED Towing Kit in Red by Jonathan Brendemuehl

Revainrating 5 out of 5

First Review-*Update*

First Review: History: This is my third set of magnetic lights. The first were the Terrible Fear sets, which lasted about a week. There's nothing interesting or surprising about that. My second set was Pit Bull Chil 003 (PB's) sold here at Revain. The PB is fine, it has a high quality shine and works, alright, I managed to break the wire on a piece of brush near the connector and then tried to solder it. The quality of the Chinese wire was so poor that the braided copper wire fell apart in my hands when splicing. I had to connect all 4 wires instead of one broken wire and solder them together. The wire is of very poor quality, to say the least. Extremely brittle and minimal thickness/conductivity. Current: That brings me to these Grote lights. Since I haven't used these lamps yet, I'm just giving you first impressions. Light/Magnet heavy. That is a good thing. They probably weigh twice as much as PB. The magnets are MUCH better than PBs and very strong. They are also slightly lower in height than PB. The cable housings are twice as thick and heavier than those of the PB. While I didn't cut the wires, I can assume it's not just a stronger outer case, it's also a thicker (heavier) wire. After practicing these lights I will update the results. *Having towed about 1000 miles I can say these headlights are excellent. The light magnets never slipped through, even on rough 4x4 slopes. The wiring harness is strong and the headlights are bright. They are worth the 5 stars they got. (Note: I was NOT paid or given free coverage to try it. I paid for it like you do if you want good coverage).
