These are a fun addition to a pool for a night party. They come with batteries. They do great in the water, float well, and are bright. These particular ones are small, about 3". If I had it to do over, I probably would have bought larger ones, but these still work great. They have many color options, as well as a multi color feature. They do tend to congregate in the pool, but that's not a design flaw, just due to the filter and flow of water. Our kids love them and they are fun for outdoor parties.
