They deliberated for quite some time before settling on a machine that would suffice for their home at a fair price. We decided on Delonghi as our preferred brand. She received a water filter, glasses, and a kilogram of grains as part of the campaign, in addition to the cash back, making the whole thing quite cost effective. The machine is fantastic; the waste receptacle is large enough that cleaning it is not necessary every other time you use it. There's a nice arrangement on the pallet, with things like coffee-grinder crumbs pouring down onto it (which some other machines have to rake out from rather uncomfortable depths). Unfortunately, after using just one porcelain or ceramic cup, the chrome grills that close the tray are already scratched. Yet, surprisingly, she does not own a cup warmer (maybe I was looking in the wrong place). There is a stand, but it does not generate heat, thus it is not essential.
