Not for beginners

I already have Knit Your Dog, so I'm familiar with the series by Sally Muir and Joanna Osborne. This particular series is not for beginners. Some of the instructions are a bit vague and you may need to experiment a little to get it right. I will say that templates require a little more patience and time. Knitting small body parts can be tiring. When I finished knitting all the pieces, I had doubts. When the pieces come together, the magic begins. The people I gave them to were quite impressed…

Cute animals but bad directions

The patterns are unique and adorable. The knitting direction is pretty straight forward, although I found a few mistakes in the pattern. However, assembling the template pieces is poorly explained, making it difficult to understand how the origami-like pieces fit together to create the final product. Luckily I've been knitting for 45 years and have a lot of experience, so I managed to create a wonderful mandrill monkey, but that was mostly despite the scheme in the book. quite expensive and…

Another great pattern book for small realistic knitted animals

KNIT YOUR ZOOS - another great collection of patterns for small knitted animals (not quite suitable for knitted toys) from the authors of Knit Your own dog and knit your own cat. These patterns are well written with clear instructions but will likely require intermediate (or higher) knitting skills as each animal is made up of many small pieces.
