The spring makes a strange noise.
I used them to replace the old solid doorstops but they made an odd pop/click when the door pivoted into the doorstop AND AGAIN when you close the door just as you did on the door ripped away from the doorstop. I suspect the spring broke when the door was pushed open. I tried another brand that looked identical in design but they didn't make any popping noises. I also added felt pads to the tip to cushion the landing. I will not buy this brand again, but I will not return it either. I'll give them to a contractor and maybe he can tweak them so they don't pop.
