I bought this filter to repackage the factory filter due to the carbon and price; it doesn't disappoint. First, it has a lot more filter pleats, which means more surface area for air to pass through, and they're all impregnated with activated carbon. Installation was easy - it took a few minutes. Driving around town I immediately noticed better airflow compared to the old filter. I also noticed that the diesel exhaust from the trailers wasn't as noticeable as with the old filter. The new filter is much heavier than the OEM filter, which makes sense as the fabric it's made from is woven much tighter to trap finer dust and allergen particles, and the activated carbon also adds weight. Overall this is the best filter I have ever had on my VW Tiguan. I look forward to getting up to 15,000 miles from it compared to less than 7,000 from the factory.
