Review on Fiskars 197940-1002 Ergo Control Rotary Cutter, 60mm: Precision Cutting Tool for Fabric, Quilting, and Sewing Projects by Kristen Simpson

Normal for regular users, not enough for frequent use.

If you are a novice user then a cutting plotter is probably for you, but when you use your cutting machine professionally, hundreds of times a week, there are many details that quickly become boring. especially if you know other, better cutters like the ones offered by Olfa. First, the Fiskars knife insert system is very difficult to use with one hand. Leverage is at the front of the handle, so you end up using the same fingers to insert whatever blade you want to lock it with. In contrast, the Olfa I usually use has leverage on the back of the handle so you can use your pinky and your finger next to it to extend the blade and free your index finger to engage the locking button. Second, the bolt assembly that holds the blade in place is missing an important detail: a small curved washer that presses down on the nut that holds the blade in place. This pressure prevents the nut from loosening and loosening the blade during operation. This Fiskars device does NOT have this, so I have to tighten the nut several times a day to keep the blade from swinging freely. You're even applying too much pressure when cutting the curves and base of the blade. Not good at all. Fourth, the blade isn't far enough forward when deployed. Because the blade swings straight down most of the time, you can't tilt the handle up when cutting heavy materials like leather. This means that instead of using gravity and the weight of your hand to push down on the blade naturally, you have to use your index finger to apply pressure. Not only does it tire quickly, it's nowhere near as confidence-inspiring as being able to tilt the handle up and put your whole hand down on the blade. +1 star for accessibility and again if you are an amateur. User, this will probably be good for you. However, if you rely on your rotary cutter dozens of times a day, this option is not for you.

This was nothing as described. It has no power or strength in it, stick to scissors.
