Sturdy brackets for our 40lb Heavy Duty Microwave

We have a large 1.6 cu ft Panasonic microwave (approx 22 x 20 x 12 inches) that weighs almost 40 pounds. and these clips are great for keeping it off the counter! It's been about 2 months and we use the microwave many times a day. There were no problems, it holds up perfectly, doesn't sag or anything. To solve the slippery sliding of the brackets, we simply glued clear protective cupboard pads to the top of the brackets. They are non-slip and will hold the heavy microwave right where we placed it. No slipping - she didn't move. They've all probably been used hundreds of times. Very quick, easy and simple solution. You need to know what the bottom of your microwave looks like - ours has all sorts of obstacles to avoid, so we couldn't keep them an equal distance from each side of the microwave. To compensate for the fact that one side is heavier than the other (it pulled the left side mount more due to the small amount of extra weight on that side), we simply put thicker bumpers under the heavier side to give it extra rigidity to lend. Raise it so it looks straight now. To solve our own problem with using it in a corner, we made some spacers out of scrap wood so we had a solid surface parallel to the back of the microwave to attach the brackets to (photo attached). This is a great solution for keeping the microwave in the corner we're used to. , green and meaty kitchen for another day, but we are not ready for a real remodeling of the kitchen - the exchange of appliances was not allowed. But then of course our microwave died and we had to buy a new one to survive, which turned out to be a lot bigger than our old one. It really makes a limited workspace more spacious and it's now very easy to clean under and around the microwave. win/win Overall these brackets are SUPER STRONG, well made and if they can hold our huge microwave I'm sure they can hold almost any microwave. And if you're mounting it on an existing wall instead of a corner, the installation is a lot simpler and easier than what we had to do for our particular corner mount (but I just wanted to let people know it's possible too). . We are very satisfied with them and recommend them to others. I hope this helps you make a better decision!

Pros
  • Increase your workspace by wall mounting your microwave
Cons
  • Good, but not great
