So I found this and thought it would be really good, my wall is thick planks of wood and I installed the bracket as shown. This is where the problems start, each microwave is advertised as having a specific weight. There is a retractable piece on each arm to help with conventional microwaves. We needed a weighted bracket system that could mount a flat-bottomed trash can to hang on the wall above the washing machine in the kitchen, and still slide it to the side to open the washing machine without dismantling an entire shelf. . We have a large 1.6 cu ft Panasonic microwave (approx 22 x 20 x 12 inches) that weighs almost 40 pounds. and these clips are great for keeping it off the counter! It's been about 2 months and we use the microwave many times a day. There were no problems, it holds up perfectly, doesn't sag or anything.
