This ESR pen works fantastic! This is the best alternative to the expensive Apple Pencil. I've tried several other Apple Pencil alternatives; and I even have a real Apple Pencil. But I wanted something black and something that looked like a traditional pencil or pen when I used it. This pen actually feels better in the hand than the Apple Pencil and writes just as well. In fact, I think it writes better than the Apple Pencil; and it's not as heavy as an Apple product. I use it with my iPad Air 3 and it's just perfect. This is NOT Bluetooth. So just like with the Apple Pencil, you simply open the app and start writing or drawing. A pairing is not required. I'm not sure how ESR did it, but they did it and they did it well. If you're thinking of buying a 1st generation Apple Pencil, buy it. It beats the $100.00 Apple Pencil+ and is reasonably priced. At first I couldn't believe it, but it's true.
