The main reason I bought this unit is the remote control. That works great. I had to put a 2032 battery in the remote, but that's not a problem as I have several of these. The remote worked about 10 feet from where I placed the heater, so I can't confirm how far it can reach. The heater has an inner part that moves during vibration to direct heat. (It doesn't move like other impulse heaters) Black and Decker make good products so I think they will last a few years.
