I've seen several of these fans over the years but I've never been sure if it's worth spending so much money on a fan. When I saw that this particular version was available and that it was 1:USB powered and 2:Battery powered, I knew I had to give it a try. I'm honestly excited about the fan. At low speed it is completely silent but moves a significant amount of air. If it wasn't for the LED indicator and air vent, I wouldn't know it's on. It's a little louder at mid to high RPM and moves significantly more air at each setting. However, I can still use the fan at high speed on my desk during a speakerphone call and the phone doesn't pick up any noise. I also like that the fan puller is higher from the desktop than most desktop fans because it doesn't move papers or anything else on my desk when it's on. I am very happy with this choice and would definitely order again based on my experience and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. I don't know if all fans of this style are as effective, but I do know this one is a winner.
