Nice Product But Software Headaches Galore

First of all, if I were reviewing only customer service it would be a five star review. Richard Teslong has been very responsive to my inquiries. The picture quality is good and the price is reasonable. The scope is not 40" long - the connector begins as 33" The bad news is I followed the direction in the User's Manual and download the app Endoscope Camera. There was so much adware I simply could not use it. Later I realized that there are two Android apps with the same name - perhaps the other was the one I should have used. Nevertheless, Teslong send me a url that by-passed Google Play Store and that works fine.Windows (7) is another story. Again I followed the link in the users manual and downloaded NTE Borescope Camera. It works fine - until I tried to exit. I keep getting an error that it can't update an ".ini" file. Program is trying to do so in a folder that doesn't exist on my computer under USERS. This is simply an executable in a zip file - there is no "installation". The only remedy to close the file is to start Task Manager and kill it there. There is a second Windows app (AmCap) referenced in the User's Manual which is supposed to be free I read several reviews and all talked about "free trial" so I was skeptical and asked Teslong about it. Again, they sent me a link and I downloaded it (again, a non-installing executable in a zip file) It won't capture still photos, but does capture video. There are numerous place on the web where you can download AmCap so I chose one and downloaded it. It works (both video and still photos) but it is trial and watermarks all of the still photos. For a mere $35 I can get the full version.Bottom line - I can't find a free windows 7 software that will capture both video and still pictures, but I am functional with an Android app - just not the one PlayStore one referenced in the user's manual

Pros
  • Quick and easy to set up and use
Cons
  • The cable is fragile and can break easily

I like that all is incorporated into the cable, no extra modules. Gives me great view of muzzle loader barrels including the lands and grooves.
