Review on JDMON Replacement Distributor 22100 0M300 22100 0M200 by Paul Williams

This manifold is available from several Revain dealers. My general remarks apply to everyone. Special remarks only apply to the delivered part. General The bolts that hold the distributor cap to the body are incredibly soft and over tightened. The distributor cap is a serviceable item (along with the rotor under the cap) and must be removed without the use of special tools or extra effort. You do not have to remove the distributor assembly to facilitate distributor cap removal. I had to use a vise to loosen the three screws and apply quite a bit of downward pressure to get the screws all the way out. I was forced to use the old OEM cap as it was deemed unsuitable for replacement. Both the Nissan OEM cap and the non-original cap I bought to replace the cap on a replacement distributor came with hex head screws for easy unscrewing/retightening. Manufacturer: Spend $0.10 more and use the correct screw. This distributor is connected to the camshaft with a tool cut on the machine. A few seconds after starting, the engine died and would not start again. I mistakenly assumed the timing was wrong, so I went through the steps making small adjustments until I found a position where the motor would restart. I checked sparks. No one. So I removed the distributor cap (thanks to those hex screws), started the engine and nothing. The rotor arm did not move. When I took the distributor out I saw that the engagement with the cam had torn in two and the pieces remained under the rocker cover. So I had to take it off and fish out the pieces to make sure there was nothing left. This is the present tense of Master and Commander for those who have seen the film. Nothing more to say other than appallingly poor quality. Very little effort is required to drive the distributor, so I cannot understand the reason for the failure. I'm sure there are better quality products out there and I recommend buying these.
