Review on ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming Motherboard by Somchai Tameeyasen ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The right product for me, there were no problems.

I'll start with the installation: I had to saw my Silverstone RL06 and breathe in metal dust so that this board would at least fit into it. The stumbling block is the pre-installed port cap. In the end, somehow it worked out. When turned on and booted into Windows, various, as they say, bloatware immediately began to be downloaded, namely Asus Armory Crate. Questionable utility, to be honest; backlight synchronization is clumsy and worked at first every other time, although after a couple of weeks it began to behave predictably; the software offered by it is not always downloaded and installed - after an unsuccessful installation, Asus AI Suite decided to ate the BIOS in the old fashioned way, and not through it, so as not to corrupt the board by chance. As for overclocking, there are plenty of functions, the R5 3600 processor itself did not drive, but there is a lot of room for overclocking the memory. The control of case fans is well implemented, although there are two and a half connectors. The board does not monitor DRAM voltage in software like HWINFO64 and AIDA64 (to be honest, I was dumbfounded by this). The memory, if anything, works according to the Daisy Chain system, if there are two brackets - insert them into slots A2 and B2, and if there are four brackets, then it's better to buy some other board. The network works flawlessly, there is nothing to say about the sound, I use a separate sound card, but it should be good. The lack of Wi-Fi in the payment for such money is a crime IMHO, but oh well. Two slots for M.2, cooling is already organized on the board. Chipset cooling is stupid - the fan breathes hot air from the video card, thanks for not making noise, and the temperature of the chipset is normal. Lots of ports, USB-C; a little upset by the lack of PS / 2. The backlight looks good.

Pros
  • Abundance of features, good power system, enough ports, Intel network adapter, good sound (probably), silent operation despite the strange location of the chipset fan, the presence of LEDs to identify problems
Cons
  • No Wi-Fi (with such a price), no monitoring of the RAM voltage, not enough fan connectors, it may be difficult to install in the case
