Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ TP-Link TL-WN725N Wireless USB Adapter: Get 150Mbps WIFI Speed on XP/Vista/Win OS by Qung Quangย  (Buss Ga แ Œ

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

I needed an adapter for a new system unit. I was looking for a minimum price that will work in Linux Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The default driver is already in the kernel, so no dancing with a tambourine was required. It should be noted that my adapter version 3 contains the realtek chipset. The instructions indicate that you can connect the device either from the front of the computer, if there is a connector, or through an extension cord. If I understand correctly, then the cord in this case is used as an antenna. Without it, the speed of the device drops to 0, the connection is lost, access points are not searched. With a 3 meter unshielded cable, the behavior of the adapter changes dramatically for the better. The adapter connected to my access point at the declared speed of 150 Mbps. Speedtest returned results that match my data plan. In general, I am satisfied.

Pros
  • Small size Low price Linux support declared
Cons
  • The instruction is not written very clearly, see the comment. USB extension is missing.
