It's definitely a good 'for the price' monitor, I use it for my recording studio and internet sharing with a top of the range 2017 MacBook Pro. I found this monitor to be a particularly good deal because the 2 TB3 ports and 2 USB ports saved me from having to spend another $200 on a hub for all the external hardware I need to use with my MacBook. An interesting issue I encountered was a fairly intense hiss/crackle through my MacBook's headphone jack when plugged into the "Laptop" Thunderbolt port on the back of the monitor. It looks like the MacBook headphone jack / interference issue has been around for over 10 years, so it might not be the monitor's fault. I switched the laptop to a different Thunderbolt port and the noise was gone. The MacBook still charges through a different Thunderbolt port, so I don't know what's up with all of this. The SSD I now plugged into the "laptop" Thunderbolt port still works as expected and I don't notice anything weird like overheating or anything like that. Fingers crossed I'm not preparing for any sort of failure, I prefer my gear, especially brand new ones, to be tuned to spec but again, for the price. Update 12/23/20: There is a headphone jack. on the back of the monitor (yes). I routed my audio line there and the MacBook Pro is out of the way when connected to the monitor's 90W TB3 port.
